Made to fit your fireplace — to the inch

An open masonry fireplace pulls warm air up the chimney all day and night. A set of Stoll glass doors closes it off, keeps sparks and ash in, and gives an old fireplace a whole new face. Every door is built to order in the USA to the exact size and shape of your opening.

  • 30+ finishes · clear, gray, bronze & pyro-ceramic glass

Screens, grates & more

Stoll — beyond the doors

Stoll builds every product to order in Abbeville, South Carolina, and its screens and hearth pieces come in the same finishes as its fireplace doors, so everything around the firebox matches.

Freestanding screens come in traditional, rustic, and modern styles — rectangle, arch, convex, and triple-panel, fixed or with working doors. Stoll also makes bar grates, log rings, hoods and lintels, and non-combustible metal mantel shelves.

The line runs deep for wood-stove owners, too: enameled cast-iron humidifying kettles and steamers, trivets, cast-iron firebacks, pellet scuttles, and insulated ash buckets.

For freestanding stoves

Hearth Classics by American Panel

Every freestanding wood, pellet, and coal stove needs a hearth pad to protect your floor. Hearth Classics pads are American made on non-combustible substrates, finished in ceramic tile or natural slate and stone, and tested to UL 1618.

They come in standard, corner, octagon, and extension shapes from 24 × 32 in. up to 60 in., with custom sizes up to 60 in. deep or wide. Matching wall pads can reduce the required clearance to a combustible wall — by up to 66% in many cases — and pedestals raise a stove while adding insulation.

Type 2 · ember + thermal

Traditional tile & slate pads

Protects against both embers and heat, for stoves whose listing calls for thermal floor protection. Ten tile colors plus natural slate and stone — Indian Slate, Black Slate, Mica, Used Brick, and Montana Stone, with Random Square Cut and Venetian Inlay designs — in an Original or Classic edge frame.

Type 1 · ember only

Ember Defender steel pads

A reversible steel pad with a lightly textured black powder coat and rounded front corners. For stoves that require ember protection only; not for stoves that need thermal protection. Black only, up to 54 × 54 in.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Bowman's sell glass doors for masonry fireplaces?
Yes. Bowman's Stove & Patio is a Stoll Industries dealer. Stoll fireplace doors are custom-made to fit your masonry fireplace opening, built to order in the USA, and available in dozens of styles and finishes. After you order, we measure your fireplace at your home, and our crew installs the doors when they arrive — custom doors typically take 4–6 weeks to build.
What fireplace accessory brands does Bowman's carry?
Stoll Industries (custom fireplace doors, screens, and grates), Minuteman International and Pilgrim Home & Hearth (tool sets, screens, log holders, ash buckets, and more), and Hearth Classics by American Panel hearth pads for freestanding stoves.
Do I need a hearth pad under my wood or pellet stove?
A freestanding stove on a combustible floor needs floor protection that meets the stove manufacturer's listing. Some stoves only require ember protection (a Type 1 pad), while others require thermal protection (a Type 2 pad with a minimum R-value). Check your stove's manual, or bring the model number to our showroom and we'll help you choose.
Can I see fireplace accessories in person?
Yes — visit our showroom in Ephrata, PA to see screens, tool sets, door finishes, and hearth pad samples. Selection in the store varies; anything in these manufacturers' lines can be ordered.
